About Brenda
Brenda’s interest in health and the mind-body connection has been a lifelong journey. As a cognitive science major in college, she was immersed in multi-disciplinary studies including neuroscience, psychology, linguistics, philosophy, and computer science.

While in graduate school, Brenda studied strategic communication, devised solutions for a variety of challenges across multiple industries, and learned the art of successfully approaching and engaging in critical conversations.

Brenda's career path led to over 15 years of working directly with C-suite executives in NYC and California. As a trusted advisor, both in-house and as a consultant, she specialized in transition management, crisis communications, PR, and business development. She gained a professional reputation as being cool under pressure, often serving as a resource for colleagues and direct reports as they transitioned into management roles.

The Turning Point

Despite being passionate about her career, Brenda experienced chronic stress, lacked energy, and found it difficult to balance commitments with personal care.

She had access to advanced health care and information telling her how to live: Eat this, not that; do this, not that; get regular check-ups, drink lots of water and get plenty of rest. Yet she and many of her colleagues continued to struggle. She believed there had to be a better way.

That’s when Brenda decided to combine her professional background with her passion to help others heal themselves.

She earned her coaching certification from Health Coach Institute which is accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF), the only globally-recognized, independent credentialing program for coach practitioners. She is a member of the Institute of Coaching and holds a certificate in Lifestyle Medicine for Stress Management from Harvard Medical School's Department of Continuing Education.

A student of yoga for over 20 years, Brenda is a Yoga Alliance Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) with certification in the areas of asana, anatomy, restorative, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, and subtle energy. She has volunteered over 300 hours in hospitals in New York and California working in Pediatrics, Women's Health, and with the terminally ill and enjoys working in both clinical and virtual settings.

In addition to her private coaching practice, Brenda leads the health coaching, yoga, and stress management programs at Kukui Lifestyle Medicine Clinic in Keauhou, Hawai'i. She previously served as Program Director and Stress Management Specialist with the prestigious Dr. Dean Ornish Lifestyle Medicine program at Island Heart Care.
